Bad Product, Horrible Service and Unhappy Employees


First off I don't blame Lifesafer for me being required to install an interlock device. I did that all on my own.

However, don't think for a second you are Lifesafer's customer. Their customers are the courts, lawyers and alchohol treatment counselors...many I believe get kick backs from Lifesafer. From my experiece after they sign you up they could care less about you. Their installation reps from my experiece could care less also. Every appointment resuilted in a 2-3 hour wait with snarly, snotty people who treated me like a criminal.

The device is horrible. It recorded over 1500 blows in my first 2 months which averages over 25/day if I drove the vehicle every day which I did not. It continually aborts even though at supposedly 1500 blows per month you'd think I could get it down. It has "locked out" on me 3 times, all during the day, none involved alcohol and in every case I sat for 10-20 minutes waiting on the phone to make sure I had left record of what happened. Who knows if they even recorded what I told them. In any case as a backup my lawyer suggested that I get a Urine Analysis to prove to the court I had no alcohol for 5 days prior to lockout. Each UA costs $35 so add that to the monthly fee. They take zero responsibilty for this product. In cold weather be prepared for numberous aborts and long waits.

They also don't tell you that they report all findings from servicing the device to the court and are not supposed to tell you or let you see what they report even though you are paying everything it costs.

They must treat their employees horrible as they are the rude, impatient and most uncooperative of any business I can remember.

Can't speak for their competitors but I am going to find out.
